The Front Door

Welcome! If you've stopped by my blog before, I fear it's been like popping through a trap door in the utility closet. Who knows what you're going to find? If you escape the tangle, the upright pile of handles and appliances and fluorescent light bulbs, you would still find yourself in the middle of things.

So this is my front door. I'm a freelance writer with a background in restaurants, marketing, advertising, and business. I studied Communications and Theatre at Eastern Michigan University. I work as both an editor and a writer, and do take clients for business writing and marketing. If you'd like to know how I can work with you to build your business, email me at laura (dot) tokie (@) gmail (dot) com.

I'm on staff with curatormagazine.com, which sounds like it might be about museums, but it's not. Okay, sometimes I write about museum exhibits, like the Rosa Parks bus at The Henry Ford, but I've also written about cheese and gardens and books and the App Store.

Here at IMLT, I've written about other things: my family, music, writing. In October of 2012, I decided that I would spend a year exploring the ideas of beauty and place. I'll be doing that here, and at Twig and Rivet.

Good to see you here. Stay awhile!

Laura
